We are updating our website design to improve the experience on our site.

Hello!  I’m Serena Stanton, the Children’s & Families Worker. My job is to make connections between  families in the local community, school and church and to host regular groups and events.

At St Swithun’s Church we have a very lively and active children and families ministry!

Each child and family is special and important and we celebrate them all and welcome them into the life of the church. With this in mind we have lots of things on offer for our children and families to attend and get involved with.

However, because of the pandemic our face to face work with children & families has changed but still vibrantly continues but in a digital & outdoor way.

Online Services

Every 1st and 3rd Sunday in the month there is always a children's talk & craft delivered by me or one of the volunteers from our Children's & Families team as part of our Facebook online service.

We do encourage our children & families to post up photos of their craft creations each week onto the church Facebook page.

The service goes LIVE every Sunday from 9am and can be viewed from then onwards. Do come and join us in a digital way! Our group Facebook page is St Swithun's Church Bathford

Monthly Family Trails

Every 2nd weekend in the month, we provide an outdoor family trail, which is held in the churchyard at St Swithun’s Church. These trails are designed to encourage wandering and wondering and to appreciate God’s wonderful world around us. There are suggested activities to do as you journey on the trail and a craft bag to explore & enjoy as you wander.

Previous trails have included a Harvest Trail, Pumpkin Trail, Advent Window Trail, Three Wise Men Trail, Love Trail and a Spring Family Trail.

Zoom Family Service

Our Zoom family services run every 4th Sunday in the month at 4.30pm.  These services are always lively and lots of fun! Each service includes children and family songs, a dramatized bible story, craft, children’s talk/reflection and prayer time.

We make use of the chat room function on Zoom during these sessions to allow the grown ups to chat with each other and for the children to do the assigned craft with our Children’s & Families worker.

Assemblies at Bathford Church School

Each week we write & produce a filmed whole school assembly for the children and staff at Bathford Church School. Our assemblies are based in and around the church calendar and on specific themes as chosen by the school or by the assemblies team.
